Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a cook in our children daycare. A background or interest in food preparation and meal service is advantageous to help with snack and meal times. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute positively to children's growth while developing professional skills in childcare.

Duties

Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote learning and socialisation Assist with food preparation and serve meals and snacks, ensuring food safety standards are maintained Organise and facilitate playtime, educational activities, and rest periods Maintain a clean and organised environment, including sanitising toys, equipment, and play areas Support children with personal care routines such as dressing, toileting, and handwashing Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and behaviour Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a secure environment for children Assist in planning special events or themed activities to enrich the daycare experience

Qualifications

Prior experience in food preparation or cooking within a childcare, restaurant, or catering setting is desirable Knowledge of food safety practices and meal preparation techniques Experience working with children or a genuine interest in early childhood development Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a caring attitude Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to childcare environments Relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education are advantageous but not essential
