As a Cook with CrossReach, you will play a vital role in everyday life for older people, creating meals that are comforting, familiar and genuinely enjoyed. Good food is at the heart of a welcoming home, and your cooking will help bring people together, creating moments of connection as well as nourishment.

What your day could involve

Planning varied, nutritious menus in consultation with the Unit Manager Preparing fresh, home style meals, snacks and baking Catering for individual dietary needs and personal preferences Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety Supporting seasonal events and special occasions with thoughtful catering Encouraging service user involvement in food preparation where appropriate

About you

You take pride in preparing food that helps people feel cared for. You are organised, creative and attentive to detail, with previous catering experience and a good understanding of food safety. You hold an Elementary Food Handling Certificate or are willing to work towards this, have a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, basic computer skills and PVG Scheme membership.

You will also need to become amember of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.You will also be required to adhere to the SSSC Code of practice.
