Job Description
Established in 2015 WG13 is a busy town centre cafe restaurant and venue space which provides invaluable work experience and training opportunities for young people and adults from across East Ayrshire. We provide a relaxed space within our community where everyone is welcome, to meet friends and enjoy a wide range of snacks, meals or our takeaway service.
We are looking for a skilled cook with a minimum of two years experience to support our existing catering team.
This is a part-time post; 21 hours over 4 days. Core operating hours Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm
MAIN TASKS
Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; preparation, plate presentation, sanitation and cleanliness.
Ensure all food is prepared as per food preparation requirements
Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available for the various areas
Maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies
Oversee and monitor the work of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done as required.
Ensure wastage is minimised.
Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilised to prevent food loss
.
Ensure staff are aware of and follow safe work practices at all times
Assist other staff in the cleaning of the kitchen at the end of the shift.
