We're Hiring: Cook

We're a small, independent cafe in Lanark, known for our friendly team, loyal regulars, and welcoming family atmosphere (dogs included!). We're proud to be a community hub and are now looking for a Cook to join us and help create delicious food that keeps people coming back.

About the Role

As our Cook, you'll be at the heart of our kitchen, preparing tasty, freshly made dishes and ensuring every plate meets our high standards. You'll work closely with the team to deliver a menu that delights our customers and supports the cafe's warm, relaxed vibe.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of cafe dishes to order, ensuring quality and consistency. Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation. Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness. Contribute ideas for specials and seasonal menus. Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.

What We're Looking For

Proven cooking experience, ideally in a cafe, bistro, or similar kitchen. Good organisational and time-management skills. A positive, reliable, and hands-on approach. Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods. A passion for great food and creating a welcoming dining experience.

What We Offer

Competitive pay (based on experience). 35-40 hours per week, rota-based, including weekends. A supportive, friendly team in a much-loved local cafe. The opportunity to showcase your creativity and influence our menu.

Pay: 12.21-13.21 per hour
