Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a Cook at our childcare nursery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation and kitchen operations within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall efficiency of our kitchen operations. A background in restaurant or culinary experience is preferred, along with a keen interest in delivering high-quality food service.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards. Support the team in meal assembly and presentation, adhering to specified recipes and portion sizes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Kitchen area and Dining Area, including washing utensils, equipment, work surfaces, wiping tables & high chairs, sweeping & mopping of floors. Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates. Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed diligently throughout shifts.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a kitchen environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional setting. Experience working in a restaurant or catering service is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills preferred. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude towards teamwork.

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 12 per week
