Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly, motivated person to join out team as a cook. You will be expected to plan, prepare and cook attractive, nutritionally balanced diet appropriate meals for 26 residents with a number of them requiring modified and special diets. Previous experience of catering for large numbers of people would be beneficial as well as knowledge and certification of food preparation and hygiene.

Expected hours:

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 08:30-1.30pm. Extra hours available to cover sickness and holidays

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. interaction with the residents and visitors to the home ability to prepare savoury and sweet dishes from scratch Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Monitor stock levels of ingredients, order stock and communicate to management as required. Collaborate with kitchen assistant and care staff to ensure timely service of meals. Be able to prepare modified and special diets as required.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation or as a Cook is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. A passion for cooking and creating high-quality meals that delight customers. Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness
