Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. This is primarily an afternoon cook position with hours between 14.00-18.00, there will be opportunity to pick up more hours to cover holiday's and sickness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that delight our residents while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards and dietary requirements of our residents Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and seasoning ingredients. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality dishes. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home kitchen environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. A positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.

Pay: 12.70 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
