What will you be doing?



Your main responsibilities will be:

Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and established standards. Create a well-balanced, nutritious, and tasty diet for residents. Provide for residents' preferences and dietary requirements, including specialised meals for those with restrictions. Assist with menu planning and food ordering to maintain proper inventory levels. Maintain a clean environment in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food. Collaborate with the kitchen and care team to ensure smooth operations and timely meal delivery. Help in menu development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes. Assist with food handling during catering events or special functions. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use. Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

What experience do you need?



Previous experience as a Cook or similar role in a food service establishment is desirable. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for cooking and baking, creating delicious meals, desserts, and snacks. Experience with menu planning, food ordering, and catering is advantageous. Fine dining or restaurant background is a plus. A cooking qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, with opportunities for further training and development.

Reporting to the Manager, you will join a supportive and highly professional team.

Shift pattern:


Shift work, working a mix of weekends and weekdays. (7:00 -15:00 or 07:00 - 19:00)
