Role Overview

As a

Cook at Magazine Heaven

, you'll be at the heart of our cafe's creative kitchen. You'll take pride in crafting fresh, delicious dishes that reflect our love for quality, flavour, and individuality. This is a hands-on role for a passionate chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where great food and great ideas come together.

Please note that this role will be on a Monday 9:30am - 4:30pm and Saturdays 9am - 7pm, with other shifts potentially available.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of fresh dishes to a consistently high standard. Contribute to menu development, bringing creativity and innovation to our food offering. Ensure all food is presented beautifully and in line with Magazine Heaven's quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen at all times. Oversee stock rotation, manage inventory levels, and assist with ordering. Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and allergen protocols. Work collaboratively with the cafe team to ensure smooth service and a great customer experience. Support and guide junior kitchen or cafe team members when required.

Requirements

Proven experience in a chef or cook role (cafe, restaurant, or similar). Passionate about fresh, high-quality food and creative presentation. Strong multitasking and time management skills. Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards. A team player who thrives in a busy, supportive environment. Weekend availability is essential.
