We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our meals are not only delicious but also prepared in accordance with food safety standards. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and menus which comprise of traditional pub food.
Assist in meal preparation and ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all patrons.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.
Experience
Previous experience in a pub or similar culinary environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continuously improve skills in the kitchen.
