Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional food service, preparing meals, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food industry operations, with experience in dietary services, menu planning and baking.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines Assist with menu planning to accommodate various dietary needs and preferences Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed to maintain food safety standards Support food preparation activities including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas Assist with catering events and special meal services as needed Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal delivery during service hours

Skills

Prior experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles preferred Strong knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation techniques Experience in care home environments is highly desirable Proficiency in food handling, cooking, and food safety practices Be able to make nutritional meals for the elderly Excellent baking skills Familiarity with food industry standards for cleanliness and sanitation Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 15 per week
