Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Cook. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in the food industry, particularly in dietary services, who is eager to contribute to menu planning and meal preparation in a pub environment. The Cook will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained while delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Assist in menu planning, ensuring a diverse selection of nutritious options that cater to various dietary needs. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food preparation and service. Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient food handling and serving processes. Utilize knife skills and culinary techniques to create visually appealing dishes. Participate in catering events, providing excellent service and presentation. Support the dietary department by assisting with inventory management and food ordering as needed. Provide training and guidance to new staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in fine dining, restaurant, or kitchen environments with hands-on cooking experience. Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling best practices. Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in knife skills and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards within the culinary field. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
