Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic

Cook

to join our team on a

bank (as-needed)

basis at Crossways Care Home.

As a Cook, you will play a key role in providing nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing meals for our residents in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences. You'll ensure food is prepared safely and hygienically, contributing to a warm and caring environment within the home.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and serve meals that meet residents' dietary requirements and preferences. Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and individual care plans. Ensure all food is prepared and stored safely in compliance with food hygiene and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and associated areas. Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies where required. Work collaboratively with care staff to accommodate residents' special requests and dietary needs. Support in maintaining allergen management and food safety records.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar environment. Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safe kitchen practices. Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above preferred). Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service. Flexibility to work various shifts as part of the bank staff team. Right to work in the UK.
