We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cook. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen understanding of food safety standards.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation
Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management, reporting any shortages or issues
Participate in menu planning and development, offering creative input based on culinary trends
Provide exceptional service during meal times, assisting with plating and serving as needed
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential, preferably within a restaurant / school /care home /or hotel.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance within the kitchen
Experience in meal preparation, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Familiarity with various cooking methods and cuisines is an advantage
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
