The Lighthouseis looking to recruit a Cook to join the team. This is a part-time role of 30 hours a week.

What you'll be doing
You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn't involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here. Ensures the effective and efficient planning and delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking, taking account of dietary and nutritional requirements within the unit. Actively involved in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages as well as supervising the work of catering support staff and ensuring operational standards comply with the company's 'Assured Safe Catering policies' and guidelines and statutory regulations.
Ensures that stock ordering and rotation is organized in an efficient and cost effective manner. Innovation
Develops varied and interesting menus which take account of healthy eating guidelines and any dietary requirements of particular patient/pupil group. Value
Responsible for monitoring the Unit's catering budget within Priory standards, taking account of cost per cover calculations, as well as ensuring best value and quality of ingredients in consultation with the line manager.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
The role holder will be numerate and literate, with training to NVQ Level 3 standard and holding an Intermediate Food Safety Certificate. They will also have experience in preparing and cooking meals within a professional kitchen environment, demonstrating competence in safe food handling, kitchen operations, and quality meal production.
