Working from 07.30 - 18.00, 3 days a week you will have a passion for cooking quality meals, presented well and a focus on quality for the whole dining experience at Engelberg.

Cook

Food is an important aspect of our care, and we focus on serving freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced, classic, and comforting meals, to suit each resident's individual tastes and preferences.

We are looking to recruit a Cook to join our friendly team. As a Cook you will be responsible for the cooking and serving of breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, supervising the kitchen team and ensuring the kitchen is kept to a high standard of hygiene.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Creation of nutritional-balanced weekly menus with flexible approach to menu alterations

Ability to provide any special dietary requirements including pureed &

modified meals

Food is cooked and served at correct temperature

Efficient and hygienic preparation of food by all kitchen staff

Daily and weekly cleaning of kitchen is carried out

All equipment is well-maintained and kept clean

Ensuring food stocks and stores are well maintained, HACCP compliance is maintained

Lead a small but dedicated team, compiling their weekly rotas

Record and action any incidents or accidents

Have excellent Health & Safety knowledge

Be financially astute with good understanding of food costs

Be innovative, creative and driven by excellence

Stay up to date with current food trends

Qualifications:

Substantial experience in Cooking and Serving.

Previous experience of working in a care home preferred
