We are seeking a flexible, hard working experienced cook to join our dedicated team in our busy kitchen. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Daily hours are 8.30-5; the number of days is negotiable and will include some weekend work. More hours will be available after Christmas to cover for a planned absence.
Duties
Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to specified recipes and standards
Assist with food presentation to ensure visual appeal
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Follow all health and safety procedures during food preparation and handling
Support with meal assembly and portion control as required
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen environments
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal presentation
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous restaurant or catering experience is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Serving experience is beneficial but not essential; willingness to learn is important
