Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate cook / baker to join our church cafe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for creating a variety of goods while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare a wide range of bread, pastries, cakes, and other snacks according to established recipes. Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times. Work with the team to develop new recipes and new menu ideas. Assist in meal preparation as needed, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality. Help train staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience in a catering environment. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A passion for cooking and baking with a creative flair for developing new recipes. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the cafe's needs.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
