We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate person to join our established, independent business with a reputation for good home cooked food. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing food from scratch, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. Essential qualities include the ability to work autonomously and efficiently, ensuring food is prepared and presented to consistently high standards.

Working alongside management, you will be directly involved in creating dishes for our menu, to include both classic and more modern ideas.

Increases in earnings are available, details of which will be provided to the successful candidate at job offer stage.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Work with management in the development of new recipes and menu items. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management and ordering supplies. Collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure smooth service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area. Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency.

Qualifications

Experience as a chef or cook within a pub/restaurant environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary methods, and kitchen equipment. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Maintaining a calm and professional attitude in a busy, hot environment. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional meals that delight customers. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership skills when required. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
