Job Description

Position: Cook

Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with recipes and standards. They ensure quality, presentation, and food safety while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and portion sizes.

Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen stations and equipment. Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor. Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and safety standards. Support kitchen team in daily preparation and cleaning duties.
Skills & Qualifications:

Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong time management and attention to detail.
Assistant Chef

Position: Assistant Chef (or Commis Chef)

Reports to: Head Chef / Sous Chef

Summary:

The Assistant Chef supports the senior kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals. This role involves assisting with all kitchen duties while learning and developing culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in food preparation and basic cooking tasks. Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in executing dishes during service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas. Follow instructions precisely and efficiently. Help with stock rotation and ensuring ingredients are fresh and stored correctly. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Assist in cleaning and closing kitchen areas after service.
Skills & Qualifications:

A passion for food and willingness to learn. Some kitchen experience is an advantage but not always required. Good communication and ability to follow directions. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Basic food hygiene certificate (preferred).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.50 per hour
