Curlew Cafe is at High Farm Holiday Park, known for its high-quality customer service, food, relaxing stays and on site events and animal paddocks. As a growing family business, we are driven to provide a high-quality experience in all we offer.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Cook or Chef to join the team. You will ensure our dishes are prepared and served to the highest standards. You will play a fundamental part in ensuring that all food is well prepared and served in good time.

This role will require a minimum of 32 hours per week, with opportunity to work overtime during busy periods. Hours include Weekdays, Weekends, and Evenings on a rota basis. You must be able to work weekends and have a passion for providing high quality food in a fast-paced environment.

Please note that the Minimum & Maximum Wage figures suggested in this post are dependent upon the skills and experience of the applicant and would be open to review after the probationary period of three to six months.

Skills required:

Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, cooking and serving a variety of dishes and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.

Good understanding of HACCP, allergens, and portion control.

Level 2 in Basic Food Hygiene.

Must be able to remain calm under pressure.

Your responsibilities will include:

Day to day running of the kitchen and ensuring that food is presented to a high standard.

Monitoring of portion size.

Washing, Peeling and Chopping.

Preparation of dishes on the menu and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.

Completing relevant paperwork and ensuring records are updated as required.

Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
