We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and will be comfortable in an industrial kitchen as well as having adequate food safety certificates. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in implementing our summer and winter menus, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene in the kitchen.
The role will be an independent opportunity for a back-street family friendly pub. The kitchen is open Fridays 3pm-6pm, and weekends from 12pm - 6pm. There is potential for the right candidate to help grow with our business and open food 7 days a week (with some conversations ongoing about opening a Deliveroo partnership). You will have a junior member of staff to support as needed but the responsibility of the kitchen would be on your shoulders alongside the Pub Landlord.
Duties
Prepare and cook according to established summer and winter menus.
Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficient meal preparation and service.
Collaborate with staff to execute a seamless service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as and when needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef, Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members.
A passion for cooking and helping others enjoy exceptional dining experiences.
