Job Overview:

We are currently looking for a passionate customer-focused chef to join our family-run business at Skinny Kitten Cafe & Bar, located in Barton-under-Needwood.

Skinny Kitten is a small local business currently operating as an independent coffee house and cafe, with a real passion for coffee, fresh food and the highest levels of customer service. We are looking for an experienced cook to prepare delicious meals for our customers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

At least 2 years' experience cooking in a commercial kitchen

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritize tasks.

Team player

Ability to work on own initiative.

Ensuring the kitchen operates safely following all Food Hygiene standards

Preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals

Ensuring all meals are of the highest possible quality and attractively presented.

Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary

Preparing the food for cooking

Reviewing the menu and doing inventory

Training staff

Skills/Qualifications:

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (required)

Full knowledge of Safer Food Better Business System

Job Type:

Full time - Tuesday to Saturday

Shift time - 8:30am-2:30pm

Salary:

12.21 per hour, then negotiable after a 3-month probation period
