Lead Chef/ Kitchen Manager Salary depending on experience.

We are seeking a passionate Cook to join our culinary team at The Smugglers, our brand new pub in Purewell.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a flair for creativity in the kitchen. As a cook, you will lead the kitchen staff, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will play a crucial role in maintaining food safety protocols while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards. Manage kitchen staff, providing leadership, training, and support as needed. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to maintain stock. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Assist in the training of new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation, production techniques, and food safety standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Creative flair with an eye for detail in presentation and flavour combinations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred but not essential.
