Purpose of the Role

The Cook supports Trancio's kitchen operations during lunch and evening service and daytime food preparation. This role focuses on producing high-quality dishes efficiently, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting with prep for evening service.

The ideal candidate will be confident working independently during quieter periods, highly organised, and passionate about good, fresh food.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items for lunch service, including pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and sides. Assist with food prep for evening service (e.g., sauces, toppings, dough, and bakery items). Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain quality and consistency. Keep prep and service areas clean, tidy, and well-organised. Ensure food is stored, labelled, and rotated correctly (FIFO). Adhere to food hygiene and allergen management policies at all times. Complete daily temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and waste logs. Assist with deliveries and stock control when required. Work closely with the Head Chef, Baker, and Front of House teams to maintain smooth service.

Skills and Experience Required

Previous experience as a cook, chef, or kitchen assistant in a cafe, restaurant, or bakery. Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen awareness. Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a busy kitchen. Reliable, organised, and able to follow instruction. Positive attitude and strong team ethic. Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to complete training).
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 21 - 30 per week
