Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone to craft delicious dishes in an environment with the emphasis to include their own freedom of menu ideas. The venue is a small very community led cosy pub. The applicant will be required to be versatile and efficient given the space we have to work with. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, creativity, and a commitment to high standards of hygiene and quality. Team player is a must.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Assist in menu planning and develop new ideas to enhance our offerings Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods Serve food to customers in a professional and courteous manner when required Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality environment Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable Previous experience working in a catering service is preferred Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service skills are advantageous
This position offers an extremely friendly environment with a loyal customer base. Future incentives over and above pay could be negotiated based on growing the trade ( i.e profit share/bonus scheme etc).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
