Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, with a flair for creating delicious dishes that delight our guests. As a Chef/cook, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and ensure timely meal service. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain inventory. Create innovative dishes that reflect current culinary trends while adhering to the restaurant's concept. Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly. Help manage kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant/cafe setting is essential. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new menu items is highly desirable. Culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
