Job Description

To undertake the supervision and support of all kitchen staff and ensure that training is undertaken, and qualifications are updated as necessary.

To maintain and improve own professional knowledge and competency.

To order and maintain adequate stocks to enable all kitchen staff to have the necessary supplies to meet menu requirements.

To ensure that all records are maintained to the standards required by the company and monitoring agencies such as environmental health and HACCUP.

To ensure that effective kitchen systems and procedures are in place and followed by kitchen staff.

Main Responsibilities

To audit kitchen procedures monthly.

To manage any problems, challenges or complaints relevant to this role.

To ensure the strict adherence to the safety and security of the kitchen and kitchen practices and maintain a dean and tidy kitchen.

To ensure the appropriate temperature checks are strictly adhered to.

To notify the Home Manager of any faulty or damaged equipment used by the kitchen

To monitor and control food wastage and report all wastage.

Any sub-standard food is returned, and the supplier contacted. Supplier issues are cascaded to the Home Manager.

To ensure that all food preparation areas operate to current and any future legal or regulatory requirements.

To go through nutritional care requirements and weight monitoring within the care plans for each resident with the Home Manager at least once every month.

To ensure only materials that comply with the companies COSHH assessment procedures are used in the kitchen.

To ensure food is served and presented in a way that is conducive with a high-quality dining experience.

Contributing to the safeguarding of adults by ensuring you are aware of your role in relation to the company's safeguarding audit policy, taking steps to protect residents from any form of abuse or neglect and use the appropriate reporting mechanisms to inform the Home Manager of any concerns.

Adhering to all legislation and any changes to legislation ensuring all vulnerable adults are taken care of.

Promoting a positive personal/professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the home at all times.

Ensuring that all information of a confidential nature is not divulged to third parties.

Notifying the Home Manager, or the person in charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.

Ensuring the security of the home is maintained at all times.

Adhering to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales. Ensuring all equipment is clean and well maintained.

Leadership

Inspire and motivate the team to prepare food to the required specification.

Lead by example, setting the pace and standard.
Train and develop the team to deliver food to specification and meet or exceed resident's expectations.

Praise and recognise good performance.

Be able to challenge poor performance and report any problems to the Home Manager. ro-active in problem solving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.80 per hour
