We are seeking a talented and ex Cook or Chef to join our culinary team on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and cooking, with a flair for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes. Applicants must be able to work weekends as required, food service days are Thursday through to Sunday with various functions etc throughout the week that you may be required to assist with, so applicants must be fully flexible
You will play a vital role in ensuring that our restaurant delivers high-quality food while maintaining excellent food safety standards.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to the restaurant's menu and specifications.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques and best practices.
Handle any kitchen emergencies or issues that may arise during service.
Skills
Proficient in various cooking techniques and methods, with a solid understanding of culinary principles.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance in the kitchen.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
Creative flair for meal presentation and an eye for detail in food preparation.
Previous experience in a restaurant or similar culinary setting is preferred but not essential.
