Georgie's Canal Cruises is a small, independent company based in the heart of Staffordshire, Penkridge. We pride ourselves in baking fresh cakes for our Afternoon Tea cruises at Georgie's Canal Cruises. We use our own recipes and the finest ingredients. We are looking for a Kitchen member to join our team who has the ability to work solo, use their initiative and work well under pressure, whilst taking pride in the work that they do!

This position is offered on a permanent basis working a minimum of 16 hours per week, typically to be worked across 4 days including weekends, with the requirement to work further hours according to the needs of the business. Some flexibility is required around availability, preferably across all seven days, and shifts will start and end at various times between the hours of 6am and 8pm. Previous experience in a food preparation environment is a strong advantage, though all necessary training will be given on the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Detailed knowledge of the product range and allergens contained in each product

- Listen to instructions and reading/following recipes and designs

- Decorate baked items according to established company standards

- Mix, prepare and bake cupcakes/brownies/blondies using bakery equipment quickly and efficiently

- Sandwich making to company requirements

- Sunday roast preparation and service

- The service of food to on board guests to company standard

- Adhere to health and safety routines, safe food hygiene and handling practices, procedures and standards (HACCP) and records wastage, deliveries, temperatures and cleaning accurately

- Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products in accordance with guidelines

- Assist in maintaining the kitchen to ensure it is clean, hygienic and tidy, at all times
