Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices. Provide exceptional service by ensuring all meals are presented beautifully before serving.

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or serving is highly desirable. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
