We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our Dementia Care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations Assist in meal planning and menu development to meet residents preferences and dietary requirements Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards Experience in meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team Previous experience serving in a care home or working directly with residents is advantageous Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22 - 33 per week
