are looking for a friendly trainee chef to join our existing crew members, working on our traditional pair of narrowboats for the 2025 season.
We will cruising the canals from June to October, starting out from Warwick and travelling to and from towns such as Birmingham, Stratford and Oxford. Up to eight guest will join us for between five and ten days at a time and it is our crew's job to cater for them and ensure they have all they need to make their holiday enjoyable.
We are looking for someone to run our galley kitchen. Although some catering experience is useful, more important is a willingness to learn and enthusiasm to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will be given full training in the kitchen and will work with the assistance of another crew member. There will be other duties, such as chambermaiding, and also the opportunity to learn how to drive our butty boat and work the pair through the locks and along the canal. It is hard work, but a lot of fun.
The skipper and crew live and work in close quarters, so a good team player and a have a go attitude is required.
Your reward for all this is free accommodation in a shared room, free food and a basic salary . In addition you will most likely receive generous tips and have a once in a lifetime experience sharing our unique lifestyle. If we all get along well, this post could be carried forward to following seasons.
Please contact me with details of how your experience, interests and attributes will make you right for this job.
