Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cook and Housekeeper to join our team, responsible for preparing and serving meals to our guests (6-12 persons) and maintaining cleanliness and organisation within our premises. The ideal candidate will ensure a welcoming environment by performing cleaning duties to the highest standards. Experience in food preparation, cooking and kitchen environments is essential, as the role will require taking charge of all meals for our holiday guests. We cook a fixed meal each day but need to cater for a range of dietary requirements, our food is basic, healthy and good quality using local produce. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting where attention to detail, independence and reliability are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook breakfast and dinner on all days when guests are present (maximum 10 days in 14). Serve and clean up after meals Clean and sanitise all designated areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces Ensure all surfaces are dust-free, floors are swept and mopped, and linens are changed regularly Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas in accordance with food safety standards Organise supplies and report any maintenance issues promptly Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for all occupants Support additional duties such as laundry, organising storage spaces, and restocking supplies as needed

Experience

Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate Knowledge of food safety standards and basic culinary skills are desirable Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment, including serving or meal preparation, is advantageous Familiarity with kitchen procedures and food handling practices will be considered a plus Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
