working with learners aged 11-16 who may have been excluded or struggled in mainstream school. We are now looking for a passionate and resilient
Cooking, Horticulture & Life Skills Instructor
to join our growing team.
This is not a traditional teaching role. You'll be delivering
practical, creative, and therapeutic learning experiences
in small groups (maximum 6 students), while also teaching
PSHE
and mentoring learners to support their
wellbeing and personal development
.

Your Role Will Include:
Delivering
cooking, gardening, and life skills sessions
that teach healthy living, independence, and teamwork.
Teaching
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education)
to build confidence, emotional literacy, and social understanding.
Acting as a
wellbeing mentor
for a small group of learners.
Supporting students with behaviour regulation and emotional needs through trauma-informed approaches.
Creating engaging, safe, and meaningful sessions for learners to
develop real-world skills and self-confidence
.
Collaborating with the wider team to track progress and shape personal development plans.
Supporting learners to
prepare for adulthood
, employment, and independent living.
You'll Need:
A background in
catering, horticulture, life skills, youth work, or vocational training
.
Confidence in delivering sessions to small groups (maximum 6).
Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills, grounded in empathy and patience.
Passion for working with learners who need a nurturing, creative and structured approach.
Desirable (But Not Essential):
Experience in education, alternative provision, or working with SEND/SEMH.
Food Hygiene certification or relevant vocational qualifications.
PTLLS / AET or willingness to undertake training.
Experience mentoring or delivering PSHE/wellbeing support.
