The Swallow Cafe is a well-established, busy independent cafe in the heart of Dunoon. We're looking for a Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in good food, and understands the importance of cleanliness, organisation, and teamwork.

Duties include:

Preparing and cooking cafe-style food to a consistent standard

Assisting with food prep, stock rotation, and portion control

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene

Supporting the cook/manager during busy service periods

Following food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures

Cleaning down the kitchen at the end of service

What we're looking for:

Previous kitchen experience preferred (but not essential for the right person)

A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Good time-keeping and reliability

Ability to work calmly under pressure

Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety

Availability to work weekends is essential
