Cook/Kitchen Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on our busy takeaway and kitchen department. This role is within a thriving business specialising in fresh local food & produce. The takeaway serves hot & cold food made in store daily. We have a very hands-on approach in our busy shop & like to muck in wherever help is needed. Pyne's of Somerset is an independent family run business & we like to take care of our staff & have fun while we work.

This vacancy is for a varied role, but the main duties consist of:

Assist with daily food preparation in the kitchen.

Preparing food & keeping the working area clean.

Maintaining a high level of personal/kitchen hygiene.

.To maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and a safe working environment in all kitchen areas.

The key duties list is not exhaustive, and we require you to be flexible and carry out other tasks as may be required by the company.

Adhering to health & safety guidelines

Good timekeeping

Applicants should be pleasant, well presented, and self-motivated.

A catering qualification and / or experience of working in a similar role is preferred.

A good knowledge of food safety is preferable, but training will be provided.

Salary competitive dependent on experience

Hours can be flexible, can be discussed at interview.

Part time or full time position available - 32.5/40 hours per week

Working hours:

Monday to Friday - 08:30-15:30 (part time)

Hours/days will differ for full time position this can be discussed at interview.

Weekends also available.
