Job Summary

We are a family owned residential home for the over 65's based near Alverstoke, Gosport.

We are pleased to be offering excellent opportunities for a passionate Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team.

Experience is preferred but not necessary as all training will be provided.

This is a Bank Position to cover Holiday Cover for all kitchen staff. The job would include covering the Cooks and the Kitchen Assistants. The job is to cover 496 hours of holiday spanning from now until 1st April, where the holiday year will restart and more holiday will need to be covered.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu plans. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary. Cooking Lunch and Dinner for 28 residents and staff on shift in a Residential Care Home. Preparing Puddings for each meal. Baking Cakes for residents birthdays. Loading and Unloading the Dishwasher. To follow all guidelines and procedures set out by the Head Cook / Management

Requirements

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation. Good communication skills to work effectively within a team. Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are advantageous but not essential.
