We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations. As a Kitchen Porter, you will support the kitchen staff by ensuring that all kitchen areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including dishwashing, cleaning surfaces, and sanitizing equipment. Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients. Support the culinary team during meal service by ensuring that all necessary tools and ingredients are readily available. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained at all times. Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in catering events as required, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup.

Skills

Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Familiarity with menu planning and fine dining standards is advantageous. Strong food preparation skills with a focus on cooking techniques and food handling practices. Experience in the restaurant or food industry is highly desirable. Culinary experience with proficient knife skills is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high levels of productivity. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
