Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes. This role is crucial in maintaining the kitchen's efficiency and supporting the overall dining experience of our care home residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as per the menu specifications. Assist in cooking and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment. Stock and replenish kitchen supplies as needed, ensuring all items are fresh and properly stored. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Participate in daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and waste reduction practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment is preferred but not essential. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration. Good communication skills to effectively interact with kitchen staff and management. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
