Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As the Lead Cook, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while mentoring junior staff and contributing to menu development.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, including food preparation and cooking. Ensure that all meals are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and efficient meal preparation. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Previous experience in a supervisory role is advantageous but not essential. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
Pay: 12.21-15.00 per hour
