Coordinator (library Team)

Newbury, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Our award-winning national charity is looking for an experienced, empathetic coordinator to support our busy, happy library team. This is a part time role for 28 hours per week. You will be someone who is looking for a role in which you can learn, grow and progress. You will love to do a great job for a fantastic cause and will enjoy getting to know our beneficiaries who are blind and visually impaired and the volunteers who support us in meeting their needs.

ABOUT US

We are the national charity on a mission to ensure every blind or visually impaired child in the UK has equal access to the visual world of pictures, books and learning.

From adapting best-loved picture books into accessible formats that can be enjoyed and explored through touch and sound, to developing resources designed to inspire, educate and entertain. Everything we produce is available to borrow for free from our postal library, giving thousands of blind children and young people the visual world at their fingertips. Our completely free library is not like most others. Borrowers do not visit to make their selection, rather our members order Touch to See books online, via email or phone, or we select them on their behalf. These are sent to them through the post. Returns come via the post too. We reach both children and adults delivering into a variety of environments including home and school. There are currently approx. 6,500 blind and visually impaired beneficiaries located across the UK.

It's an exciting time to join our fast growing charity and happy team. We may be small, but we pack a punch! We're experiencing incredible growth in membership and awareness and we're now looking to the future, with new development projects on the horizon there will be plenty of opportunities for those who want to see career progression.
