Job Summary


Ardcomm is a community-based health and social care organisation and our Older Adults Services are dedicated to supporting older adults to maintain independence, well-being, and social connection. Our Older Adults Services aim to reduce isolation and loneliness while promoting access to essential health and social care.

We deliver support through three integrated workstreams:


o Domiciliary Care Department: A regulated service led by a Registered Manager.


o Good Morning West Belfast: A daily telephone check-in and support line.


o Elders Forum: social club supporting in-person activities including daily meals, health and education workshops, outings and celebrations, and advocacy.



Together, these services ensure older adults remain connected, empowered, and included in community life.



Duties



The Coordinator of Older Adults Services will act as a link role between our regulated and unregulated services. The post holder will: Provide supervision and leadership for the unregulated services (telephone line and social club).

Key Responsibilities



Service Supervision & Delivery



Lead daily operations of the telephone support line and social club. Support the Registered Manager in the domiciliary care department, with admin tasks, ensure integration across services. Develop and implement activities that meet the diverse needs of older adults. Ensure services are delivered in line with Northern Ireland legislation, safeguarding, and best practice.

Staff Leadership



Supervise staff, students, and volunteers across unregulated services. Conduct performance reviews and provide daily mentoring and support. Ensure staffing levels, rotas, and resources meet service needs. Promote a culture of inclusion, compassion, and continuous improvement.

Service Development & Innovation



Monitor, evaluate, and improve services to increase referrals and engagement. Introduce and facilitate new initiatives such as activities, events, workshops, and advocacy opportunities. Work in participation with staff and service users to ensure services remain responsive to the evolving needs of older adults.

Data Management & Reporting



Ensure accurate recording and reporting across all Older Adults Services. Establish and maintain systems and databases to capture service user data, staff activity, and outcomes. Analyse online systems (e.g., Pulse, Onetouch) to identify patterns, trends, and gaps in service provision. Use data insights to inform service development, improve quality, and support strategic decision-making. Attend meetings and prepare regular reports for senior management, regulatory bodies, and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Community Engagement & Advocacy



Build partnerships with local authorities, healthcare providers, and community organisation to enhance the activities available. Develop outreach initiatives to engage socially isolated older adults. Coordinate advocacy work, including responses to government, and other public body, consultations on issues affecting older adults.

Quality Assurance & Compliance



Monitor service performance using data, evaluations and feedback. Ensure compliance with health and social care regulations, safeguarding, GDPR, and organisational policies, and take the required training as necessary. Identify and manage risks to ensure safety and well-being of service users and staff.

Essential Qualification:

Level 5 qualification or above in health and social care, gerontology, public health, or a related field.

Experience:



Essential:

Proven experience (1-2 years) in coordinating telehealth programs or older adults social care services. Experience in working with older populations and understanding their health and social needs, and the regulatory frameworks that govern good practice. Desirable:



Experience working with third-party providers, community organisations, or local authorities. Previous experience in a social inclusion or community development role, particularly involving older adults.

Additional Requirements



Driving: The post holder will be required to travel between Ardcomm service sites and community venues. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.

Insurance: The post holder must hold appropriate business use insurance for their vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 31,922.00 per year
