Manual Worker - Copper Foundation (1 Year Fixed Term)
We are currently recruiting for our
Copper Foundation
initiative, which gives those currently out of work the chance to attain valuable knowledge, skills and experience in a variety of horticultural, neighbourhood and trade disciplines. You will gain 12-months paid work experience, increasing your employability skills. The salary for the role is 23,613 per annum, working 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday: 8:00 - 15:30.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
Assist with the clearance and ground preparation for boundary and external work as required to ensure a programme of works can be carried out effectively.
Assist with laying or replacing paving slabs or fencing to our properties and boundaries, ensuring a high standard of work.
To ensure a safe working environment whilst undertaking duties, such as complying with COSHH, RA's, HAVS, AUDIO and PPE requirements.
Within the first 6 months you will be encouraged to study for and pass your Driving Theory test, at your own cost. This will open up opportunities for you to secure employment once the contract ends (You will be given time to complete practice theory tests online at our head office to help you achieve this goal).

To be considered for this job you absolutely must have:
A strong desire to learn and undertake training
Be able to carry out manual tasks and have a reasonable level of fitness.
Commitment to learn and fully appreciate health and safety standards at work.
Be able to travel to Aberavon, Baglan, Sandfields or Little Warren by 8am every morning.
Desirable criteria:
Live in Tai Tarian property
Hold a valid CSCS card which includes the health and safety component
You will be Responsible for:
Equipment issued to you, which could be power tools and hand tools.
Your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Your own Health & Safety
Working Environment:
Community Based / Tenants Properties / adverse weather conditions. Regular travel required

As part of the interview process you will be required to successfully complete a 1-week placement w/c 22/09/2025 before securing the 12-month fixed term contract with Tai Tarian. The potential start date for this role is Monday 29th of September 2025 however these dates may change.
