Copywriter - Full Time or Part Time position

The House of Bruar is seeking a skilled copywriter to join our growing E-commerce team. This job is office based only and you will be based at our Bruar offices.

You will need to be comfortable with the concept of using AI, but also possess a solid foundation of your own excellent writing and editing skills. Your main task will be to craft superb web copy for our range of country clothing, Scottish gifts, food, drink and homewares, ensuring your copy is accurate, relevant, effective, and provided in a timely manner. Along the way, you'll gain considerable expertise in our range, and your skills and knowledge may be deployed across a wide range of writing scenarios.

Your office base will be the beautiful House of Bruar site in Blair Atholl, where you will take your place within a hard-working and friendly team, benefitting from perks like generously subsidised food from our on-site restaurant. Key Responsibilities:

Creating online product descriptions for our range of country clothing, Scottish gifts, food, drink and homewares

Utilising ChatGPT/AI when appropriate to maximise efficiency, but deploying your own judgment in editing the resulting output to do best job possible

Proof reading your own work and other people's, ensuring text is accurate and of a high standard

Research existing and new products within the business

Potential to be involved in the writing and editing of emails, blogs, social media captions, website text, and catalogues

Work in collaboration with stakeholders across the business

Creating clear, persuasive and original copy and understanding brand assets to ensure they adhere to the overall House of Bruar Tone of Voice

Who we need:

Essential:

Polite, friendly and approachable manner

Organised, methodical worker

Happy to work alone, or as part of a team

Ability to work under pressure when the need arises

An excellent level of written and spoken English, reading and comprehension

Efficient in using MS Word (Word processor)

Desirable but not essential:

Experienced in proof-reading

Experienced in writing professionally or academically in any capacity

Experienced in using various software programs including MS Excel

Experienced in using AI

An existing interest or knowledge in country clothing, textiles, fine food and drink, or the countryside
