Farrow & Ball are a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients.

As a brand rooted in craft, heritage, and creativity, our tone of voice and storytelling are central to who we are. This role will play a key part in maintaining and evolving that voice across all customer touchpoints.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer who can combine creativity with clarity and who is as comfortable crafting SEO-optimised web copy as they are writing evocative colour stories or headlines for print campaigns.
What we expect from you as a Copywriter:
Key Responsibilities:
Brand & Tone of Voice
Own and evolve, the Farrow & Ball Tone of Voice (TOV) guidelines.
Deliver TOV training for new starters in marketing and across the business, including international teams and external translators.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of market nuances across global audiences, particularly in North America, the UK, France, and Germany, adapting brand messaging to ensure relevance in each region.
Content Creation
Research and write weekly blog posts for The Chromologist, and develop inspiring, engaging copy for e-newsletters.
Write and regularly update website content, including campaign landing pages, evergreen pages, and SEO-optimised content aligned with the customer journey.
Write copy for marketing collateral including colour cards, leaflets, door drops, postcards, packaging, and event invitations.
Compose messaging direction and headline copy for retail campaigns, including showroom POS and window displays.
Support PPC and paid social by writing compelling ad copy for Meta, Pinterest, and other digital platforms.
Proofreading & Compliance
Proofread and edit all customer-facing copy written by others across departments (e.g., video content, printed collateral, legal disclaimers, and press releases).
Liaise with the Legal and Compliance teams to update copy following changes in regulation or legislation.
Collaborate with Communications and PR teams on writing and reviewing press releases.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Liaise with brand ambassadors to review campaign assets, scripts, and quotes for brand representation.
Manage external freelance copywriters, assigning briefs and reviewing output for consistency and tone.
Work directly with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, web, creative, legal, and sales to balance brand voice with strategic goals.
Create and maintain internal reference documents including colour story archives, FAQs, and copywriting best practices.
Write and support B2B content creation, including sales tools such as stockist prospecting brochures.
Collaborate with the Brand team to respond to briefs originating from multiple markets, tailoring tone, language, and cultural references to align with local expectations.
Key Attributes:
Proven experience in a similar in-house or agency copywriting role, ideally within the lifestyle, interiors, or premium brand sector.
Exceptional written English, with a strong command of grammar, and brand tone.
Ability to write across a variety of formats and for different audiences, balancing creativity with commercial priorities.
Excellent attention to detail, with strong proofreading and editing skills.
Confident project manager, able to juggle multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and channels.
Experience working with SEO principles and digital marketing platforms.
Collaborative and proactive, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback constructively and professionally.
