Role Overview





We are looking for a

Core Infrastructure Project Manager

to join our fantastic Project Services Department. The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of critical core infrastructure programmes, including enterprise network and infrastructure upgrades, security improvement initiatives, modern workplace improvements including end-user device rollouts, and Windows OS upgrades. The role will ensure successful project delivery by coordinating internal technical teams and third-party vendors, managing risks and dependencies, and aligning workstreams across the IT estate.

Key responsibilities:



Project Leadership & Delivery

Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and technical workstreams Lead delivery of infrastructure upgrades including networking, server infrastructure, endpoint devices, and operating system migrations Manage risk, change control, interdependencies, and incident response within a dynamic technical environment Ensure technical requirements and business continuity considerations are addressed throughout project phases

Technical Coordination & Execution

Coordinate activities between infrastructure, network, security, end-user computing, and enterprise architecture teams Oversee hardware and software deployments, testing, and environment readiness Collaborate with technical leads to ensure interoperability of infrastructure solutions across the enterprise

Supplier & Contract Management

Manage external partners and vendors involved in infrastructure delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with contractual obligations Support procurement processes and vendor selection for infrastructure components and services

Governance & Reporting

Maintain clear documentation, status reporting, and RAID logs to support internal governance structures Provide accurate and timely updates to internal delivery boards and IT leadership

Security & Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal security policies, patching schedules, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, Cyber Essentials) Work with IT security to manage the security posture of the delivered infrastructure components

More about you



Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A- C)
Project Management Qualification (Prince 2/ Agile) Proven experience delivering large-scale IT infrastructure projects including device rollouts, Windows OS upgrades, network and data centre changes, or endpoint management Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including networking, cloud, servers, security, and device management Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical streams with a clear understanding of their interactions and dependencies Familiarity with ITIL practices, service transition, and operational handover processes Experience in line-management of project delivery teams Proficiency in Agile, PRINCE2, or PMP project management methodologies
