Disney is looking for an experienced Corporate Comms Manager to help support on key initiatives including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), local investment and its 100th anniversary celebrations in October.

The Corporate Communications Manager will work closely with the Corporate Comms team to help deliver a proactive media relations campaign focused on showcasing Disney\xe2\x80\x99s EMEA corporate strategy and key successes as well as protecting the brand in the UK and EMEA.

The Manager will be a key member of the team and will work across media relations, speaking engagements, crisis and issues management, asset creation, as well as serving as the Communications partner to the CSR, DE&I and Brand & Franchise Marketing teams. The Manager will also work closely with the Corporate Comms team to support issues related to Global Public Policy, Tax, Legal/Antipiracy, Finance and HR.

Key elements and required results of the role:

  • Campaign management: This individual will help to manage and lead designated PR campaigns for key initiatives including DE&I, CSR, Brand, Disney\xe2\x80\x99s 100th anniversary celebrations and Franchise Marketing as well as campaigns for the wider corporate function. This includes management of agencies, leading on messaging and plan creation, developing assets and implementation.
  • Writing: The candidate must be an extremely strong writer and will be expected to draft corporate and consumer press releases, messaging and talking points, corporate website stories, crisis and issues messaging and plans, speeches, strategy plans, and presentations for executives across the business. The candidate will need to show strong proof of experience in this area.
  • Media Relations: This role should have extensive media relations experience including relationships with relevant business and trade media. This role is primarily focused on delivering press coverage for key corporate initiatives around DE&I, CSR projects and promoting major brand and franchise campaigns working with the Brand & Franchise Marketing team, as well as consumer outreach around our Disney 100th anniversary campaigns. This person will also support the Corporate Comms team on larger reputational initiatives and risk management, where needed.
  • Crisis Comms: This position requires experience in managing crisis communications and issues, including writing crisis plans, reactive messaging and media management. The candidate will support the Senior Manager on these issues.
  • Speaker Opportunities: The individual will also support Disney\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x98Speaker\xe2\x80\x99s Bureau\xe2\x80\x99 across the business. Working with the Senior Manager, in addition to creating an ongoing calendar of speaker opportunities for the UK and EMEA leadership team, they will work with the segment communications teams to evaluate speaking opportunities for executives across the business, develop key messaging, draft speeches as well as deliver exceptional audiovisual supporting materials. The individual must be able to manage all of the detailed scheduling and Audio/Visual planning needs. They will be the primary liaison with the third parties organizing the events.
  • Corporate Support: The Manager will help develop and write-up key messages and talking points that can be used internally and externally as the communications partner to the corporate functions \xe2\x80\x93 these include:
  • Ownership of TWDC EMEA / UK Fact Sheets, Boilerplates and other shared communications assets such as executive biographies and corporate photography.
  • Oversight and management of the content on the EMEA Corporate Website and the corporate elements of the UK Press Site (working with the Coordinator and Intern).
  • Managing our centralized assets platform that includes various corporate resources and information for all comms teams to use across the region.
  • Helping to manage our quarterly comms summits and best-practice sessions for the wider EMEA comms teams.
  • Events: They will help plan, organize and deliver Corporate events ranging from Corporate Media Screenings & Breakfasts to collaborating with the publicity teams on other line of business events. They will assist in planning and managing EMEA\xe2\x80\x99s participation in the bi-annual D23 Expo.
  • Management: The candidate will line-manage the Corporate Comms Coordinator, managing their workload, priorities and tasks. They will also help mentor and manage the Corporate Comms Intern and their development throughout their placement
  • Other: Work in partnership with the segment and EMEA market comms teams for greater corporate campaign impact. Counsel the segment and EMEA market comms teams on corporate issues where appropriate. Be a conduit with the US Corp Comms teams and EMEA. Help manage the annual Corporate Communications budget.
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required:

Qualifications and People Management experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing
  • At least eight years proven corporate comms experience within a large enterprise or agency, ideally with additional experience in delivering consumer comms campaigns
  • Experience of managing crisis comms issues essential
  • Experience in line-management
  • Must be able to interact with employees at all levels, including senior executives
  • Ability to set clear goals and manage multiple assignments
  • An understanding of deadlines and project management is essential
  • Proven ability to self-direct and drive projects from start to finish
  • Strong experience creating and delivering (or managing the creation/delivery of) high quality video assets and presentations
  • Must be able to operate across different markets and LOBs
  • Must be diplomatic, professional and able to handle confidential information
  • Able to act as an ambassador for the department with key internal stakeholders
