DESCRIPTION

Amazon\'s Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (\xe2\x80\x9cAWS\xe2\x80\x9d), a dynamic and rapidly growing business at the forefront of cloud computing. This Corporate Counsel will be part of the AWS Sales and Marketing legal team and will serve as a trusted advisor to EMEA business leadership.

Key job responsibilities
This role will support the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization in EMEA, a fast-growing business that leads AWS\'s most strategic customer engagements across the world. Key responsibilities in supporting GDSP include negotiating and drafting complex cloud services agreements, innovating to modernize and scale our global legal support, and advising on local regulatory and compliance issues. This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and driving simplification efforts.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. The successful candidate works well within a large legal team, but is also able to work independently on transactional and project work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed to practice law in the UK and/or US or other relevant EMEA jurisdiction.
  • Strong transactional experience
  • 5+ years of legal experience, to include experience at a law firm or in-house
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiar with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, or cloud services.
  • In-house experience at a technology or internet company.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through, and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing issues.
