What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You'll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.

What kind of work will I do?

As part of this programme, you'll contribute to advising companies through a range of different challenges. This might involve helping a company get a multi-million-pound loan for a new acquisition, finding an acquirer for your client's business at an attractive price, helping a struggling company become more profitable or preventing a company's insolvency by renegotiating a loan.

Your responsibilities might include:

Assisting in the preparation of information about a company or business venture to present to lenders/acquirers. Preparation of financial models to explain the impacts of certain actions on a business's financial statements. Helping negotiate terms with lenders/acquirers/sellers in order to achieve the best terms for your clients. Discussions with senior management teams to understand more about their business challenges and how we can help. Speaking to colleagues across Europe to provide international clients with advice that crosses borders. Helping clients to buy businesses: helping them to grow, access new markets and assets, and to better source finance. Helping clients to sell businesses: helping stakeholders realise value and achieve maximum returns and prioritise areas for growth of their wider businesses. Involvement in a range of business development activities, which may include undertaking research to identify new opportunities, or conducting marketing sounding with lenders/investors to better understand appetite for financing transactions.
This role is part of our three-year M&A rotation graduate scheme. You'll start in Corporate Finance (your "home offering area") and gain valuable experience through two further rotations within different M&A offering areas. This structured approach allows you to build a comprehensive understanding of the M&A business as a whole, develop key skills, and network across the team. You'll return to your home offering area at the end of the programme.
